  • Vintage Report

    • Decreasing production and more expensive harvest: this is, in a nutshell, how the 2020 harvest in Valpolicella can be described. The initial advance was reabsorbed by the low temperatures of the final maturation phase,so we were in perfect agreement with the calendar of the harvest in Valpolicella, scheduled for this year around September 10th.

After a dry winter period, the vegetative recovery was marked by rains, which were maintained in the summer period with abundant rainfall which made it necessary to make a very careful selection to keep the quality high. The sorting of grapes for Amarone is, in fact, the most difficult and must be done by people who are able to do the job of selecting and cleaning the berries well. In any case, the 2020 vintage was characterized by a quantitative reduction due to the waste but at the same time, the healthy grapes gave a decidedly good qualitative contribution.
