Red Wine, Napa Valley – 2012 – 92 points – Ken’s Wine Guide
92 points

“This opaque and very dark ruby colored red wine from Double Eagle opens with a pleasant black cherry and mild oak bouquet with a hint of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and rather dry. The flavor profile is a tasty and distinctive black cherry and oak blend like the bouquet. I also detected hints of cassis and plum. The finish is very dry and its big tannins stick around for quite some time. This big boy red blend benefits from decanting in the near term and will go nicely with a well-marbled ribeye.”
