J. Schram, North Coast – 2006 – 92 points – Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine
92 points

“Very much giving voice to the aged richness and biscuity traits of lengthy tirage time that has become the distinctive hallmark of Schramsberg’s J. Schram bottlings, the 2006 version is a deep and wholly indelicate wine that earns its high endorsement for complexity and sheer depth. Fruit has entirely faded from view at this point with elements of baked brioche, ginger and sweet smoke competing for attention instead, and it is a wine meant to appeal to those who appreciate the virtues of age.”
