Girard
2007 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley
This wine is 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc produced from grapes grown in three Napa Valley vineyards. The primary vineyards are Girard’s St. Helena vineyards—Crocker and Morgan Ranch—at the base of Mt. Vaca, which is well known for growing outstanding Sauvignon Blanc fruit.
The grapes were hand sorted and gently whole cluster pressed. Girard utilized 100 percent stainless steel fermentation at cold temperatures to highlight the freshness of the fruit and to prevent masking of its natural brightness. The winery used specially-selected yeast for fermentation and ensured that no malolactic fermentation took place in order to retain the natural acid balance of the fruit.
Bright, fresh, clean and crisp. The perfect wine for lighter seafood and chicken dishes, green salads or serve as an apéritif. Aromatics and flavors of fresh-cut green apples, pink grapefruit, and gooseberry, with a subtle waft of grassiness on the nose.
