In 1992, after his family’s métayage contracts had expired, Pierre Morey formed a small négociant company, Morey-Blanc, named using conflation of his surname and his wife, Christianne’s maiden name. In July 2008, Pierre stepped down from his 20-year position at Domaine Leflaive, where he had established his reputation for making the world’s finest white Burgundy wines. This decision allowed him to turn his full attention to working with his daughter, Anne, at Domaine Pierre Morey and Morey-Blanc. Since its inception, Pierre and Anne have expanded the number of Morey-Blanc wines. Today, wines are produced from some of the most respected vineyards of the Côte d’Or, including Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Aloxe-Corton, Meursault Charmes and Saint-Aubin.
